Three puppies, one pumpkin, a hat

A carved jack-o-lantern sits open like a basket, its triangular eyes and jagged grin cut into the front. Three grey and white puppies are piled inside it, front paws hooked over the rim, green eyes, pink tongues. The one at the back wears a pointed witch hat that flops over at the tip. Smaller pumpkins and a few vine leaves rest around the base. TRICK OR TREAT! arches above in thick white rounded capitals, OR BOTH?? sits below.

Who it’s for

Whoever ends up holding the candy at a family Halloween, and any household where the dogs outnumber the costumes.

The detail that matters

The pumpkin is lit and carved, not a plain bowl. Somebody made the lantern first and only then decided it would hold dogs, and that is the small piece of logic that makes the drawing funny instead of merely cute.
