A puppy who did not think this through
The scene sits inside a circle. A huge orange moon fills the background, and against it stands a haunted house with lit windows, a crooked fence, bare trees and bats crossing the sky. In front, a black puppy with enormous round eyes and floppy ears sits square in the middle, tongue out, ears half raised. A green hand pushes up out of the ground on its left. A skull rests on the earth in front of its paws, and carved pumpkins line the fence behind. SPOOKTACULAR arches above the circle in white horror lettering, HOWL-O-WEEN runs below it.
Who it’s for
The house where the dog gets a costume before anyone else does. It reads as Halloween from across a street and as a dog shirt from up close, which is the point.
The detail that matters
The puppy is not scared of the hand coming out of the ground. Its eyes are on you. Every other element in the drawing is doing Halloween properly, and the dog is the one thing in the picture that has not noticed.
